Poppy's Sausage Rolls

Sausage roll mix

500g pork mince

1/2 zucchini, grated

1/2 carrot, grated

1/2 onion, finely diced

1 egg

2 tbsp tomato sauce

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp fennel seeds

1 cup shredded tasty cheese

1 packet puff pastry, defrosted

1 egg, beaten (for eggwash)

1/2 tsp poppy seeds or nigella seeds, to top

Poppy's Sausage Rolls


Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Mix all the sausage roll mix ingredients together in a bowl (hands is best).

Add the mixture in a long strip to the puff pastry, and roll over itself to seal, add a bit of egg wash to seal properly.

Add egg wash to the top of the sausage roll and add the seeds for garnish, cut into desired size.

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
