Gruyere Cheese and Bacon Pinwheels

Ingredients

2 sheets of store-bought puff pastry
2 cups Gruyere or cheddar cheese
1 cup bacon, finely chopped
½  bunch parsley, finely chopped
1 bunch chives
1 tbs. Worcestershire

1 egg, beaten with a little water

Method

Lay each piece of pastry on a double layer of cling film and allow to defrost. In the meantime combine, cheese, bacon, chives, parsley and Worcestershire.

Spread the cheese mixture over each piece of pastry evenly.

Starting at the base, roll the pastry tightly into a symmetric log. Now tightly roll in the cling wrap and place in the freezer until frozen.

Pre heat the oven to 200C and line a large baking tray with baking paper.

Unwrap the pinwheels and cut into 2 cm circles. Brush each lightly with the egg wash and cook for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Serve as a snack of with pre dinner drinks.
