Goreng Pisang (Malaysian Deep Fried Banana) with Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients
4 bananas, peeled and whole
Batter
1 cup self raising flour
1 tbsp wheaten cornflour
2 tsp baking powder
200ml ice cold water
oil for deep frying
Method
In a large bowl, sieve the dry ingredients together and mix through the cold water. Take care not to over-mix the batter; a few lumps is fine.
Heat the oil to 190C in a wok. Dip the bananas into the batter and slide into the oil. Deep fry for 8-10 minutes until the batter is golden brown and crispy. Remove the bananas from the oil and drain well. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
