Korean Beef Skewers

Cook Time 20 minutes (+ marinating time)

Servings 4

Ingredients

600g beef sirloin or scotch fillet
2 tbsp peanut oil
2 tsp toasted sesame seeds


Marinade

½ small brown onion
½ nashi pear
4 garlic cloves
⅓ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp caster sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp peanut oil
2 tbsp Mirin

Method

Slice the beef into thin strips.

Combine all the marinade ingredients in a food processor and process to a paste. Pour over the beef and leave to marinate for at least 1 hour.

Allow the beef to come to room temperature before cooking. Thread the strips of beef onto a skewer.

Heat the oil in a large frypan on low heat and cook the skewers for 2 minutes on either side until beef is just cooked through. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the skewers to serve.

Serve on bed of rice.
