Baked Pear on Puff Pastry

Cook Time 45 minutes

Servings 2

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry

1 pear

2 chocolate balls

Little brown butter

1 tsp golden caster sugar

½ tsp spice mix, optional

Egg wash

Cream or ice cream, to serve

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Cut the pear in half and remove the core with a melon baller, ensuring it is large enough to hold the chocolate ball.

Cut lines into the skin side of the pears scoring the surface and brush with brown butter.

Combine sugar with the spice and sprinkle the outside of the pears.

Place cut side down onto the puff pastry.

Cut around the shape of the pear leaving a 10mm gap ensuring it has a distinct pear shape.

Cut some leaf shapes with the pastry offcuts and attach them to the top of the pear.

Brush the pastry edge with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden.

Serve immediately with some cream or ice cream.
