Mettwurst and Sauerkraut Toasted Sandwich

Ingredients

2 Mettwurst sausages, grilled to warm through

2 tbs. American-style mustard or any mustard of your choice  

4 slices of dark rye bread 

4 slices of swiss cheese

½ sauerkraut, drained well 

Butter, softened

Method

Spread the mustard onto each slice of rye bread and top with cheese. Cut the grilled mettwurst sausages in half lengthways and arrange them on the bread so it covers the surface evenly then top with sauerkraut. Lay over the remaining bread slices and sandwich them together.

Spread butter on the top and bottom of the sandwich and toast in a pan over medium heat, pressing down on it with an egg flip until golden and toasted and the cheese has melted. Cook for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
